The Making of Victory Ranch Golf Club

The famed golf course architect Rees Jones, is the designer of the golf course at Victory Ranch Club. As a noted golf course design firm Rees Jones Inc. has designed numerous championship courses around the world.

The actual construction work of shaping the course and creating the challenging topography was the renown golf course builder Golf Works, Inc. of Austin, Texas. Since 1988, Golf Works, Inc. has constructed some of the finest golf courses around the nation including Redstone Golf Club home of the Shell Houston Open.

Rees Jones' design philosophy combines a belief in harmoniously blending the best of Mother Nature's aesthetics with an attitude of fun for all players yet challenging and demanding to test the player's skill level.

Rees Jones - Course Architect:

Rees Jones is a renowned golf course architect who has designed more than 100 courses, primarily in the United States. He is also well- known for his redesign of courses in preparation for major championships, so much so that his nickname is "The Open Doctor." His remodeling skills have been applied to seven U.S. Open venues, five PGA courses, three Ryder Cup sites, and one Walker Cup redo, plus an original design for the 2001 Walker Cup. His redesign of East Lake has become the permanent site of the PGA Tour's "Tour Championship."

Among his notable original designs are Nantucket Golf Club, Atlantic Golf Club, The Golf Club at Briar's Creek, RedStick Golf Club, Ocean Forest Golf Club, Quintero Golf and Country Club, The Bridge and Cascata Golf Course.

Jones is currently ranked second in Golf Digest Magazine's list of the top five golf course architects.
